Steve believes that more rigorous measures should be put in place to prevent harm or abandonment of exotic animals.

Steve once considered opening a petting zoo. But on recollection of seeing bottles being thrown at alligators while on holiday, changed his mind. 

He is committed to responsible animal ownership and loaths people returning animals after purchasing them on a whim: "Think about things before you upset the animals. Otherwise, it's just not fair." 

Keeping on top of legislation is made easy through the help of unions, who notify him of law changes relating to the breeding of animals. Steve feels that Germany's strict but fair regulations on animal keeping are exemplary.
